Geographies of Violence

Geographies of Violence is a crowdmapping experiment focusing on the capital of India, New Delhi. New Delhi, just like any other city, has its own history of violence and specifically, sexual violence. This project is one of the several responses to increasingly brutal instances of sexual assault on women. While outrage, physical protests, advocacy and education are necessary, awareness is also crucial to those who tread unsafe territories.
This is an attempt to leverage a moment of crisis to produce change that  can make us safer. This is a crowdmap where you can report any instance of sexual violence you have faced in Delhi. This is based on the Harassmap model (a similar crowdmap) and is still under construction. I urge you to use this, put your local knowledge on the map and help us navigate unsafe spaces with more awareness. If you face trouble, let me know at blahplum@gmail.com.
